In 1967, she married Henri de Laborde de Monpezat, with whom she had two sons, Frederik and Joachim. Margrethe succeeded her father upon his death in January 1972. Having reigned for exactly 52 years, she was the second-longest reigning Danish monarch after Christian IV. She is also the world’s most recent female reigning monarch. The Imam ul-Mulk family recognizes Fatima Al-Zahra, a female, as the legal heir of her father, and subsequently his legal successor, Caliph, and her husband Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib and their children in the line of the Twelve Imams, her subsequent legal heirs, independent of interference in political administrative responsibilities and borders of the civilization (Ummah) – until or unless asked to serve.
