Dear Minister,
…I have been following with great interest your office’s steps towards fostering stability in the Arab Middle East through the support of monarchies in the region, whether the ideal constitutional monarchy or absolute, giving precedence to the form of government over the style of government, for the greater good. I would like to applaud your office for announcing the “unprecedented” $100 million aid to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to help cope with the fall out it is faced with because of its chaotic neighbors.
Unlike our neighbor, Canada, being a constitutional monarchy, is in a position to directly create stability in the world, beginning with the Arab Middle East by encouraging and supporting monarchies, and steps towards models of government similar to ours, like this government is doing.
HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, is quoted to have said back in 1969, “I think it is a misconception to imagine that the monarchy exists in the interests of the monarch. It doesn’t. It exists in the interests of the people.”
While I am clear the aid package of this government has nothing to do with a political solution for anything, but rather is specifically to help deal with refugees, I believe, like in the past, it is time for the world to reconsider “the Sherifian solution” for the chaotic regions in the Arab Middle East.
…The Holy Bible states clearly, while (according to the Church of England) God’s covenant was with Isaac, God made a promise to Abraham to place in the progeny of of his son Ishmael mighty kings, and to make them a great nation. The Hashemites, being descended through the Prophet Muhammad and his great-grandfather; Hashem son of Abdul Manaf, claim descent without any historic challenge from Ishmael, and through his (Hashem) wife Salma, from King David. As such, it is argued, like our Royal Family are the natural leaders of (the Children of) Israel, the Hashemites are the natural leaders of the Arab people, by Right Divine, united under God.
The greatest challenge to peace in today’s world comes from the instability and chaos which spills over from the Arab-Middle East. If we can, like our leaders of past, consider revisiting or re-introducing to the international community, or the real power players in the world, the old solution for the Arab-Middle East referred to as ‘the Sherifian solution’, we would be instrumental in helping create order, where there is disorder, peace where there in chaos, and security where there is fear.
The following quote from Associated Papers, London is timeless, “They tell us that all Kings are bad; that God never made a King; and that all Kings are very expensive. But, that all Kings are bad cannot be true: because God himself is one of them; he calls himself King of Kings; which not only shows us he is a King, but he has other Kings under him: he is never called King of Republics. The Scripture calls Kings, the Lord’s Anointed; but who ever heard of an anointed Republic?”
I pray my letter attracted your attention towards a matter mandated by God Himself, which because of its being neglected, is constantly creating chaos, and suffering in our world. I believe addressing, or working towards addressing this matter will bring tremendous providence to our country, and help usher in an era of unprecedented calm in the Arab-Middle East, which impacts the entire world, and Canada.
Sincerely,
Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin
