In March of 2013 while visiting Mawlana Shaykh Nazim in Cyprus, Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin had the opportunity to greet His Eminence al-Sayyid Shaykh Adnan Kabbani, a Khalifa of our GrandShaykh Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh ‘Abd Allah ad-Daghestani (qad) and senior most Shaykh of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Tariqa under Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Qubrusi.
While responding to a personal request by Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin to interpret a recent dream, Shaykh Adnan Kabbani told Sayyid Ahmed,
“…it means you. You will be one of the main inheritors of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and the Naqshbandi Way. You will be among of the high ranking Awliya of the time and you will carry on the legacy of this Tariqa, this is your position, and what the dream means…”
Following this, Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin asked Shaykh Adnan the meaning of the Prophetic hadith, in his understanding, which explicitly states, “Man kuntu Mawla, fa ‘Aliyun Mawla” (For whomsoever I am a Master, ‘Ali is his Master), and how this hadith applies to the rank and merit attributed to the first of the Rashidun Caliphs; Abu Bakr al-Siddiq? Shaykh Adnan replied, “It is correct (authentic) and means Sayyidina ‘Ali is the external Master for all believers, while Sayyidina Abu Bakr is the spiritual Master…”
